Types of Recharge

Facts About Recharge

Recharge time is a function of the available current, the type of charge station and the characteristics of the vehicle. Typical recharge is based on AC current and allows batteries to recharge over a given time or several hours. Fast recharge is based on DC current allowing for adequate capacity in approximately 15 to 30 minutes. It is important to know the features of your vehicle and its recharge capability.
Charge Station Location Types

Fixed Location

A charge station may be used in fixed location where the same owner uses it frequently to recharge their vehicle such as fixed parking spot in a building or office.

Shared Location

A charge station used in a location which is shared amongst various owners. This includes gas stations, shopping malls or public parking.
How Much Does it Cost
Depending on whether a single or three phase meter is required, the basic price for installing a charge station is between R700-R1500 as long as the infrastructure is prepared and the distance of the charging station from the electrical panel is reasonable.
